Trip to "Latitudes" for lunch

On Tuesday this week my friends Mary Ellen, Marcia and I went for a drive toward the shore and had lunch at a restaurant called Latitudes. It's located right down from the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel in Newcastle, NH. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day and enjoyed watching the boats cruise by. It felt good to be near the ocean and enjoy one another's company and the delicious food. Marcia and I had the lobster roll which was to die for and Mary Ellen had a wonderful stuffed tomato with chicken salad and fresh fruit all around the plate. She enjoyed that. I took a few pictures you might enjoy viewing.

Madeleine goes to Applebee's

Today Grandpa and I went to visit with Madeleine and her mother, Melissa. We went out to lunch at Applebee's and Madeleine found the place very interesting. She looked all around at everything and smiled at people who went by. She drank water from her sippy cup and ate some of my grilled chicken. She really seemed to enjoy herself. We enjoyed watching her. Here are a few pictures from our visit.

Father's Day in Newburyport

Matt and Alicia graciously offered to host the Father's Day celebration at their home in Newburyport. We were the first to arrive with Melissa, Matt and Madeleine arriving shortly after. Thijs was taking a nap so he had no idea that the house would be full of people once he got up. You'll see his expression on finding a house full of people after napping. We had a lovely time and a wonderful meal. We had lobsters, grilled veggies, corn on the cob, potato salad, wine and a giant "whoopee pie" cake for dessert. All very yummy. I tried my first Mojito drink and found it very tasty and refreshing. The following pictures are the reason for Father's Day. Enjoy!

Last baby-sitting day with Thijs

I spent my last day baby-sitting for Thijs last Wednesday. Next year his Mom will take him to work and put him in a daycare near where she works. We had a grand time playing and singing. We also went for a walk around downtown Newburyport. Thijs was all dressed up in his little
Hawaiin shirt and shorts. Pretty handsome guy. Take a look.

Fr. George pays us a visit

Fr. George, a very special friend of ours, spent some vacation time here in New England. He lives in Belleville, Illinois now but always comes for a visit when he travels this way. We are always happy to see him and catch up on all his news.

Madeleine Comes for a Visit

Grandpa and I had the opportunity to care for Madeleine while her parents went to a wedding a few Saturdays ago. We always enjoy having her here with us. She's so much fun. Take a look at how she's grown.

Tea Party at St. Thomas Church

The Tabernacle Society at ST. Thomas Church hosted a Mother/Daughter/Granddaughter etc. tea party on Saturday May 31st. I invited Melissa, Madeleine, Alicia and Thijs to join me for some fun. We had a wonderful time with lots of people to meet and plenty of food and tea to satisfy all of us. Our church choir director was there and provided some beautiful music on the piano. The two grandchildren were very good and were the youngest there. Everyone oohed and ahhed over them. Here are a few pictures taken at the party.
