Madeleine and her Mommy visit Mémère and Grandpa

We had a nice visit today with Madeleine and her Mommy Melissa. They visited all afternoon and stayed for dinner. Madeleine is growing fast and learning new things. While she was here I made her a winter hat. You'll see her trying it on before it was finished. I wanted to measure it on her head. She wasn't too thrilled about trying it on so you actually don't see the finished product. I also captured a few videos of her making new sounds. Enjoy the pictures.

Here she is trying on her unfinished hat.

My visit with Thijs and his Mom Alicia

I arrived while Thijs was taking his nap in his swing.

His mom said that he had a tough night and
didn't sleep much. ....nor did his parents.
But he finally woke up and was hungry of course
and needed a diaper change. I got to hold him
for a bit. He is so cute and cuddly. He's changing
fast.

While I was there Alicia and I chatted and had
some lunch. I had brought some homemade
turkey soup. It was a cold day so the soup hit
the spot. After Alicia and Thijs had to get ready
for Thijs's one month checkup at the pediatricians.
Here he is getting ready to leave. He wasn't too
thrilled about getting ready as you can see but
I heard that his visit went well and he's doing
fine.

Alexa comes for dinner

Last Sunday I invited a friend from our choir to join us for dinner. Since I hadn't prepared a turkey for the Thanksgiving meal I decided to cook a small 12 pounder on Sunday with all the trimmings.

Alexa didn't mind having a Thanksgiving meal again so we all ate well and enjoyed one another's company. I also made a pumpkin pie for dessert. Needless to say we had some leftovers, however not too much turkey left because it was small. We did get a couple more meals out of it. I just made a turkey soup to bring to my son and daughter-in-law. I will visit with Alicia and Thijs tomorrow for a little while. Thijs turned one month old today and he goes for his one month check up tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait to see him. I'm sure he has changed since last Thursday when I saw him.

I've started my Christmas shopping this week. I've shopped on line and at the malls. Thank goodness my family is not too big. It was fun shopping for the grandchildren. There are so many cute things out there. Christmas should be fun this year.

Thanksgiving with Madeleine and company

I've been wanting to share some more pictures for a while now but haven't had the time. We were able to spend Thanksgiving day with Melissa, Matt and Madeleine. After 30 some odd years of cooking the turkey etc. I was more than happy to let someone else do it. We had a great time and enjoyed the food tremendously. Matt and Melissa did such a good job. The twenty-three pound turkey was very succulent with all the trimmings just as tasty. Desserts were just too many and yummy to choose from. Thanks so much kids, for everything. We also spent the day with Madeleine and Matt's mom, dad and brother. Matt, Alicia and Thijs joined us for dessert. It was great seeing the grandchildren. They're growing fast. We had so much to be thankful for. We are so blessed. Here are a few pictures to enjoy.

Here's Madeleine in her new velvety dress.

With Daddy smiling shyly.

Lying comfortably in Mommy's arms.

Enjoying some quiet time in her bouncer.

Here's Thijs all dressed up like a
little man in Mémère's arms.

Grandpa putting Thijs to sleep.

"I'm still the "man". "Don't you
think I'm cute?"

Lest we forget little Tia- all dressed up for
Thanksgiving.

Two Burritos

Check out Thijs and Madeleine looking like two burritos. Aren't they cute?

Madeleine with Cali

I finally figured out why I couldn't post this video. It was too long. I managed to shorten it and Voila! now you can view this funny video of Madeleine and Cali. If you checked out Madeleine's blog you probably saw a video similar to this one. Enjoy! JT

Madeleine visiting Thijs and family

Today, Sunday Nov. 11,2007 Grandpa and Mémère visited Matt, Alicia and baby Thijs at their home in Newburyport, Ma. We also got to visit with Melissa, Matt and Madeleine. They came to Matt and Alicia house too. They hadn't seen Thijs since he came home from the hospital. It was really great being all together for a change. Here is a video of Madeleine playing with her Daddy while she visits with Thijs.

Matt and Alicia had plenty of visitors since they've been home. Unfortunately Matt has to go back to work tomorrow. Alicia will get some help from her Mom for a few days and other relatives will stop by to help.

Here are a few more pictures that I took today of the grandkids.

I have another video with Madeleine and Cali but for some reason I can't load it into this space. I don't know why I was able to download the other one of Madeleine but not this one. ???
Anyway, we had a lovely day visiting everyone. We didn't take Tia with us because it would have been too hectic with the two dogs and the babies. Tia anxiously awaited our return home.
I hope to make more posts as the days go along so return and check this out every now and then. There might be something new to view.

My First Blog

Well, I guess it's about time I post a blog. Everyone else in the family has one now. I have plenty to talk about now that I'm a grandmother. Little Thijs born on Oct. 28th is just as cute as can be and little Madeleine born on Aug. 3rd. is beautiful and just as wonderful. I am so happy for their parents and I know they'll be good parents. I only wish we all lived a little closer. Thank goodness both grandchildren have blogs and I can watch them grow whenever they post pictures. It's getting late so I'll leave it at that for now. Good night.
