Wednesdays with Thijs

Alicia has gone back to teaching now and Thijs goes off to daycare on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. His mom job shares with another teacher so she can have Monday off. Wednesday is Mémère's day to spend with Thijs. I will help out in this way until school lets out in June. This past Wednesday was our first whole day together while everyone else was at work. We had lots of fun as you'll see below.

We took a little tummy playtime in the living room.

After being fed and changed for the day we enjoyed
listening to some children's music cds.

Thijs is strong and holds his head up really well.

He likes colorful toys and toys that make sounds.

It's hard filming videos when you don't have
anyone to help you. However, Thijs tried to help.

Weekend babysitting

A couple of weekends ago Mémère and Grandpa took care of Mathijs while his parents went to a friend's birthday party in Connecticut. Luckily the weather was good that day. Well, we all had fun here. We sang, danced, played and took naps. Thijs loves to laugh and play. He also got the chance to sit on Grandpa a lot. Here are a few pictures taken on that day.

Grandpa and Thijs looking very handsome.

Thijs is very comfortable in Grandpa's arms.

Doesn't Thijs look much older in this picture?

He still has a bit of eczema on his face. Poor fellow.

The BIG DROOL!

Hanging out on the bed.

Don't you think I'm cute? Look into my big blue eyes.

A little playtime before getting ready for bed.

First Sewing Lesson at Madeleines

Melissa and Alicia want to learn how to sew. So off I went to Melissa's house with my sewing machine and sewing bag. Of course this enabled me to visit with Madeleine and Thijs. Little Madeleine has a cold and poor Thijs is still being bothered by his eczema. We did a little bit of sewing and a lot of shmoozing with the babies. Here a few pics.
You can tell she has a cold.

You know how when you don't feel good, you
just want to be held.

Dinner in Sunapee with STA choir members

On Feb. 17th our choir went to dinner in Sunapee, NH at the One Mile West restaurant. This restaurant is owned by our choir director's brother-in-law. It's a really nice restaurant and pub with various choices on the menu. I chose steak tips with mushrooms and wild rice. Very yummy! Here are a couple of pictures I took while there.

Grandpa's birthday celebration

Saturday was "Grandpa's" birthday so we celebrated with our growing family. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take many pictures. In fact, I took none of the birthday guy. :-( I was busy in the kitchen most of the time and only got a couple of pictures of the grandkids. We all did have a lovely time though. Grandpa enjoyed seeing everyone and the gifts the kids gave him. He was starting a cold so he didn't get to hold Madeleine or Thijs but he enjoyed them just the same. Here are a few pictures I took.

Thijs and Madeleine getting to know each other.

Ouch!! Thijs is pulling on Madeleine's ear.

"Hey Thijs, what'd you say we split this place
and go and get some pizza." "Meet you out back."

Our little "love bug".

Madeleine at 6 mos. old/eats solid food

I was fortunate enough to babysit Madeleine again this weekend. She's such a delight. She turns 6 mos. old on the 3rd of Feb. and my oh my has she grown. The following are some pictures I took while babysitting and a couple of videos showing her eating solid food for the first time. Listen carefully to the first video and you'll hear her say her first word which is "hello". She definitely says the word. It went by so quickly that I don't think it registered in our brains because we were so intent on her eating. Anyway, you listen and let me know what you think. Enjoy!

Madeleine tries rice cereal for the first time and
says "hello" for her first word. Listen carefully.

It's lip smacking good.

Posing for the camera.

Playing on her exersaucer.

This is her "close-up".

Give me some more of that rice cereal. Yummy!

Getting ready to turn over on her play mat.

Lunch with Alicia, Thijs and cousin Anya

I made a big pot of vegetable soup so I decided to share some with Alicia and make a little visit as well with Thijs. Their little cousin Anya was visiting for awhile so I got to meet her too. Alicia said that Thijs really holds his head up well now so I took a couple of pictures of him on his changing table holding his head up.

He makes it look so easy.

Look how strong he is.

Isn't he cute!
